In NSW, legislation is very poor and unfortunately anyone can operate an IPL or Laser Machine without having any qualifications.

As fully qualified technicians we can assure you there is a lot involved in performing an IPL or laser treatment and extensive training is required to ensure your treatment is performed safely.
Side effects are less likely to occur when treatments are performed by an experienced technician.

What is IPL ?

Intense pulsed light as the name implies, is a concentrated amount of light used to remove unwanted hair for long-lasting results. The light targets the pigment in the hair follicle so no more hair is produced, giving you a smooth, hair free area. For optimum results, six , eight or ten treatments may be required.

What is the difference between IPL and Laser ?

They both have the same outcome using different methods.

How does it work ?

By emitting pulses of light that attract to and thermalise the hair follicle.

Technically

The IPL light energy is absorbed by the pigment melanin in the hair, it is transmitted down the hair shaft and this disrupts the hair root mechanism. This is best achieved when the hair is in the active growth phase. (anagen phase)

Is the treatment painful ?

For most people no, it is generally well tolerated. A slightly warm sensation or feeling of a slight flicking sensation. Patients often say it is much more comfortable than waxing. Our ipl system uses a cooling system that lowers the temperature of the skin at the treatment site prior to treatment. A topical cream called emla can be purchased from the chemist and applied an hour before treatment, for more sensitive areas.

Is it safe ?

A Test patch is required one week prior to your treatment.

Why do a test patch ?

Your safety is our highest priority. We will shave the area to be tested so we can see pigment in the hair

How long do I wait between treatments ?

Generally every four to six weeks is the best for hair reduction.

How many treatments will I need ?

Most treatments are completed in 6-8 sessions, this depends on skin colour, hair thickness and intensity of treatment.

Clients must shave the day before treatments.
